This is a rough sketch of one of my favorite buildings, the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan. The reason behind this, is due to my appreciation and love for curved buildings. To me curved structures have an aspect of tranquility, which is what i like to feel when admiring a piece of architecture.

This modernist villa known as Villa Savoye was designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. Built between 1928 and 1931 the villa is a modern take on a French country house and is a remarkable contribution to modern architecture of the 20^th century. The detachment the villa has from its physical context lends its design to be contextually integrated into the mechanistic/industrial conext of the early 20^th century, conceptually defining the house as a mechanized entity.

     This image was taken from a cliff at Stanwell tops in the early hours of the day. As much as we love buildings and structures it’s always soothing to get back to nature, areas that have no material except the nature they have always have had.
